The Messenger
By Natasha Palacios
One day a lady named Natasha was doing her job on her bicycle in Manteca. She was doing her job as a messenger, and she was riding her bicycle really quickly. That’s when a rock was in the way, and she fell off her bicycle. She injured her hand, and blood was gushing out! Then she felt her hair. She looked at her hand and gasped! She didn’t have the cut anymore! That was the day that she found out that her hair had healing powers.
The next day she was riding her bicycle near her house. She saw a little boy running down the street. He tripped on his shoe lace and fell on the pavement. Natasha heard him crying and came over to help. She touched her hair and it grew longer. When her hair touched the little boy’s arm, he stopped crying. All day she was helping people and making her hair grow longer. She felt happy helping others. But it was getting really bad. Each day her hair grew longer and longer until it touched the ground. The only thing she needed to do was to cut her hair. There was only one problem. She loved helping everybody so she didn’t want to cut her hair.
She didn’t cut her hair, but each day it was getting worse and worse. Everybody that she knew was telling her to cut her hair. But she didn’t want to. She was just ignoring them. She didn’t want her healing powers to go away. Finally she cut her hair because it was getting too long. Her healing powers disappeared and the girl was unhappy. She decided to grow her hair again to see if her healing powers would come back. The powers came back, but her hair did not grow very long. Natasha was finally happy.
